Jakub M.:  It's been almost half a year and still smiling and excited by the memories of the best Christmas of my life that I got thanks to the great work of OWMO. For three weeks, a group of great people and I traveled together in central Ecuador. We got to know both the beauty of the mountains and the beauty of the rainforest. We spent Christmas on a beautiful view of the Rio Pastaza, in peace, no hustle and bustle in the shops, a minimum of people, pleasant warmth and beer. Then we had the opportunity to sleep right in the middle of the forest only with a local guide, ie beer, burritos and just listen to all possible sounds of nature in the middle of black darkness. An incredible experience! We spent New Year's Eve in a cozy hotel in Quilotoe, about 4000 m.n.m. Although a little colder than the Amazon, although the morning sunrises were worth it - it is worth getting up and watching with coffee in hand. Every day there was something to see, what to discover, both in the mountains and in the Amazon. You are not bored even when crossing the bus, Since from the winding paths in the mountains there has always been a bidet co - views of a deep valley with mighty rivers, views of the distant horizon with the mountains is sunset or just watching the local life on the culture, which is concentrated mainly around roads. The best thing about the whole event was the fact that we were nowhere to be seen as tourists from a travel trip. We spent hours of accommodation with locals, with whom Monika has very good relations. So we could get closer to the place, literally peek into their kitchen. Spend evenings with them, swimming together, washing clothes in the river, cooking and eating with them at the same table. Tim's experience is amplified and one gets to see more than if we were a big gang from a travel agent. One forces oneself to think about how we live here, what problems we have and are embarrassed, to deal with the needs, problems and life of the locals. At this moment, one leaves, charged with an incredible amount of positive energy, modesty and humility. I recommend to everyone! (Participant of the 6th expedition December/January 2020)

 

Original language version:  Je to již skoro půl roku a stále s úsměvem a nadšením vzpomínám na nejlepší vánoce v mém životě, kterých se mi dostalo díky skvělé práci OWMO. Tři týdny jsme s partou super lidí společně cestovali po středním Ekvádoru. Poznali jsme jak krásy hor, tak i krásu deštného pralesa. Štědrý den jsme strávili na překrásné vyhlídce nad řekou Pastaza, v klidu, žádný shon v obchoďácích, minimum lidí, příjemné teplo a pivo. Poté jsme měli možnost přespat přímo uprostřed pralesa pouze s místním průvodcem, tedy pivo, buřty a jen poslouchat všechny možné zvuky přírody uprostřed černočerné tmy. Neskutečný zážitek! A silvestr jsme strávili v útulném hotelu na Quilotoe, cca 4000 m.n.m. Sice trochu chladněji oproti amazonii, avšak ranní východy slunce stály za to - vyplatí se přivstat a pozorovat s kafem v ruce.

Každý den bylo co vidět, co objevovat, jak v horách, tak v amazonii. Člověk se nenudil ani při přejezdech autobusem, jelikož z klikatých cestiček v horách bylo vždy co vidět - pohledy do hlubokých údolí s mohutnými řekami, pohled na vzdálený horizont s velehorami se západem slunce či jen tak pozorovat místní život a kulturu, který je soustředěn hlavně kolem silnic. Nejlepší na celé akci byl fakt, že jsme nikde nebyli jako turisté z cestovky. Hodně času jsme strávili ubytovaní u místních, se kterými má Monika velmi dobré vztahy. Tudíž jsme mohli proniknout blíže k místním, nakouknout jim doslova do kuchyně. Strávit s nimi večery, společné koupání, praní prádla v řece, vařit a jíst s nimi u jednoho stolu. Tím je zážitek umocněn a člověk se dostane dále a vidí více než kdyby nás byla velká tlupa od cestovky.

Člověka to donutí se zamyslet, jak zde žijeme my, jaké máme problémy a co nás trápí, a porovnat to s potřebami, problémy a životem místních. V tomto okamžiku člověk odjíždí nabit neskutečným množstvím pozitivní energie, skromností a pokorou. Všem doporučuji! (Participant of the 6th expedition December/January 2020)

Alena B.: I would like to thank you for a wonderful experience, seeing the beautiful, unknown and distant country of Ecuador. I have traveled a lot of countries but always with more people and as they say - it wasn't it, I wanted to see more, go deeper, get to know people more closely, just not walk on the classic hiking trails. Andy, bypassed the volcanoes, wandered through the beautiful forests of the Amazon, spent the night with the Indians, had a parrot game bite, ate meals I had just read or seen on TV, we found time to sit and chat- just great expeditions. Libuše S.: The journey through central Ecuador enriched my life so that I could not have imagined it in advance. People in communities, their lives, their experience in curing illnesses, their diet, growing crops, their spiritual lives have moved me to other dimensions of my life. Jana K.: I would like to share fantastic experiences and impressions from our November trip to Ecuador with Monika. I just don't know if my words are enough. I am quite experienced traveler, but the nineteen days we spent in this country (we were six women:-)) was absolutely TOP! Ecuador is a beautiful and exotic country for us, it is not difficult to fall in love with it at first sight. But thanks to Monika and an exceptionally good group, which actually happened by chance, we experienced and saw something I never dreamed of! Huge mountains covered with tropical forests, wild rivers, snow-covered volcanoes, indigenous forests, but also plundered clearings and literally tragic consequences of the expansion of "civilization". We met a lot of very nice and friendly people, we did not only met with customs and ceremonies in the Indian communities of the Upper Amazon, but also with the travel of public transport and many personal invitations and the life of ordinary Ecuadorians. Miraculously, we had quite easily adapted to their peaceful pace of life, forgetting the stress and hustle and bustle we are accustomed to from home. Nevertheless, thanks to Monika we went through the planned program and there were other fantastic adventures that came along the way. I often felt like a little girl :-). Even today, when I close my eyes, I find myself in the forest, by the waterfalls or on the back of a pickup truck, and my body spills only peace and quiet, the sun in my soul :-). I hope it wasn't my last trip through South America. next time I'm going again with Monika :-)! (Participant of the 5th expedition November 2019)

Original language version: Ráda bych se podělila o fantastické zážitky a dojmy z naší listopadové cesty do Ekvádoru s Monikou. Jen nevím, jestli mi budou stačit slova. Jsem poměrně zkušená cestovatelka, ale těch devatenáct dní, které jsme v této zemi strávily ( bylo nás šest bab :-) ), bylo absolutně TOP! Ekvádor je nádherná a pro nás exotická země, není těžké si ji zamilovat na první pohled. Ale díky Monice a výjimečně povedené partě, která se sešla vlastně náhodou, jsme zažily a viděly něco, o čem se mi ani nezdálo! Obrovské hory pokryté tropickými lesy, divoké řeky, zasněžené sopky, původní pralesy, ale i vydrancované holiny a doslova tragické důsledky rozpínání "civilizace". Setkaly jsme se se spoustou velmi milých a přátelských lidí, seznámily jsme se nejen se zvyky a ceremoniály v indiánských komunitách horní Amazonie, ale díky cestování hromadnou dopravou a mnoha osobním pozváním i s životem obyčejných EkvÁdorců. Jako zázrakem jsme se docela lehce přizpůsobily jejich poklidnému životnímu tempu, zapomněly na stres a shon, na který jsme zvyklé z domu. Přesto jsme díky Monice v pohodě absolvovaly plánovaný program a došlo i na další fantastická dobrodružství, která se po cestě naskytla. Často jsem si připadala jako malá holka :-). Ještě dnes, když zavřu oči, octnu se v duchu v pralese, u vodopádů nebo na korbě pickupu a po těle se mi rozlije jen klid a mír, slunce v duši :-). Doufám, že to nebyla moje poslední cesta po Jižní Americe. příště jedu zase s Monikou :-)! (Participant of the 5th expedition November 2019)

Tereza O.: Three weeks with Monica was a total purification of myself. Such an authentic relaxed "trip" I spent the first time ...... moreover, you do not have to solve anything, the entire expedition is perfectly prepared and sophisticated ...... the entire stay has a continuity and a great gradient. For me 11 stars out of 10 :). The time is that perhaps every second person nowadays solves something "their own" with a psychologist .... Milan S.: An excellent opportunity to experience the day-to-day life of indigenous people, including their traditions, beliefs and ceremonies. Excursions to waterfalls, collecting fruits or making dishes are just pieces of a rich program. Expressions such as siesta or manana are a bit funny, but they certainly have their merit in our hurried times. Eva M.: The expedition was for me a visit to a different world than we are used to here in Europe, and I am grateful for the opportunity to see how indigenous Indians in Ecuador try to reconcile life in the modern world while preserving the knowledge and experience of their ancestors. I was amazed at how close they were to nature and their family members, how they perceived the energies of everything around them. Trips to the waterfalls, a visit to Quito with Mount Pichincha, the local cathedral or a statue towering over the city was only the top on the cake. Nadchlo mě, jak blízko mají k přírodě i ke svým rodinným příslušníkům, jak vnímají energie všeho kolem sebe. Dan C.: A few months ago I visited the Ecuador .... only after a while I realized how beautiful the experience I have had. Rarely somebody has the possibility to spend an amazing couple of weeks in a strange family of native Indians on the other side of the world in the beautiful nature. Zuzana K.: This year I took part in my first expedition to the Ecuadorian shamanic community Tsachila under the leadership of a nice organizer, Monika and family. They both took care of the program and entertainment throughout the first day till the last day. The family curandero regularly took care of the traditional healing of ceremonies held in his holy days after sunset. The community is located in the beautiful countryside of the Ecuadorian countryside. Every day at home women took care of healthy,  traditional three meals a day. I firmly believe that I will be able to return there so that I can recall the beauty and energy of this amazing place and meet again with the people of this community. (Participant of the 1st expedition April/May 2017)

Obaja sa nám od prvého dňa až po posledný deň starali o program a zábavu. Rodinný šaman sa nám pravidelne staral o tradičné liečenie teda ceremónie, ktoré sa konali v jeho svätiny po západe slnka. Komunita sa nachádza v nádhernom prostredí Ekvádorského vidieku. Každý deň sa nám tam domáce ženy starali o zdravé, výdatné tri jedla denne.
