TRADITIONAL CLOTHING
& LOOK
The traditional clothes are made of the typical skirt for men and women which differes in the colours. men are wearing a two-color black and white skirt and on the other side women have Skirt with stripes with various colors reminding the rainbow, the costumes are handmade from the cotton which they plant by themselves. That is a part of their millennial cultural roots.
The Tsáchila people have suffered from the discrimination of the mestizo citizens which caused that many Tsáchila young people change their way of thinking and many of them have started to leave a lot of their traditional habits in clothing, language, housing and various rites.
Before The Tsáchila people got acculturated, their ancestors were walking with naked torsos and marked with Huito and painted hair with achiote.
